Welcome to Highgate Skip Hire. By using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before hiring a skip.
1. Definitions
- Service Provider: Highgate Skip Hire and its affiliates.
- Customer: Any individual or entity requesting skip hire services from Highgate Skip Hire.
- Agreement: These terms and conditions form the agreement between the Service Provider and the Customer.
2. Hire Terms
By hiring a skip from Highgate Skip Hire, the Customer agrees to the following terms:
2.1 Booking and Availability
All bookings are subject to availability. We recommend booking in advance to ensure the availability of the desired skip size and delivery date.
2.2 Delivery and Collection
The Service Provider will deliver the skip to the specified location within the agreed timeframe. Collection will occur at the end of the hire period or once the skip is full, whichever comes first.
2.3 Hire Duration
The standard hire period is 7 days from the date of delivery. Extensions may be available upon request and are subject to availability.
3. Payment Terms
Payment must be made in full at the time of booking. We accept various payment methods, including credit/debit cards and bank transfers.
3.1 Pricing
- The cost of the skip hire depends on the size of the skip and the duration of the hire period.
- Additional charges may apply for specific delivery locations or access requirements.
3.2 Late Returns
Extended hire periods will incur additional charges. The Customer will be notified of these charges prior to any extension.
4. Usage Guidelines
The Customer agrees to use the skip responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
4.1 Permissible Waste
- Household refuse such as furniture, appliances, and garden waste.
- Construction and demolition waste as per local regulations.
4.2 Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly prohibited from being disposed of in the skip:
- Hazardous waste including chemicals, asbestos, and batteries.
- Medical waste such as syringes or pharmaceuticals.
- Explosive materials like fireworks.
4.3 Overloading
Overloading the skip beyond its capacity is not permitted. The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the skip is not overloaded.
5. Liability
Highgate Skip Hire is not liable for any damage to property or injury to individuals resulting from the use of our skips, except where caused by our negligence.
5.1 Insurance
Customers are advised to have appropriate insurance coverage when hiring a skip. Highgate Skip Hire carries public liability insurance, but it may not cover all potential risks.
5.2 Damage to Property
The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the skip is placed securely to prevent damage to surrounding property. Any damage caused by improper placement will be the responsibility of the Customer.
6. Cancellation and Refunds
Customers may cancel their booking up to 48 hours before the scheduled delivery date for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before delivery will incur a cancellation fee.
6.1 Refund Policy
- Full refunds for cancellations made within the specified period.
- No refunds for cancellations made after the cutoff time.
6.2 Rescheduling
Customers may reschedule their bookings subject to the availability of the Service Provider.
7. Compliance with Laws
Customers must comply with all local regulations regarding waste disposal. Highgate Skip Hire reserves the right to refuse service if the Customer fails to comply with these regulations.
7.1 Waste Disposal Regulations
- Ensure all waste is sorted and disposed of according to local laws.
- Provide accurate information about the type of waste being disposed of.
7.2 Environmental Responsibility
Highgate Skip Hire is committed to environmentally responsible waste management. Customers are encouraged to minimize waste and recycle where possible.
8. Terms Modification
Highgate Skip Hire reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Customers will be notified of any changes, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
8.1 Notification of Changes
Significant changes to the terms will be communicated via email or our official communication channels.
8.2 Acceptance of Terms
By continuing to use our services after changes have been made, the Customer accepts the updated terms and conditions.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Highgate Skip Hire operates. Any disputes arising from the use of our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in this area.
10. Severability
If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
10.1 Invalid Provisions
- Any invalid provision will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
- The Service Provider may replace invalid terms with valid ones that most closely reflect the original intent.
11. Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the Customer and Highgate Skip Hire regarding the use of our services, superseding all prior agreements and understandings.
11.1 No Waiver
The failure of Highgate Skip Hire to enforce any right or provision of these terms does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
11.2 Assignment
Customers may not assign or transfer their rights or obligations under these terms without the prior written consent of Highgate Skip Hire.
